Leprosy Rehabilitation Centre (Sarvodaya Nagar) is one of the initiative of SMIDS to Rehabilitate the Leprosy affected people. By understanding the pathetic living conditions of the leprosy affected people, who were forsaken and abandoned by their own families, we have started this project and formed the Sarvodaya Nagar in 1996.
At present, there are 42 families with 94 members possessing their own homes. It is equipped with approach roads, electricity, water supply, community hall, dispensary, home gardens, and places to rear domestic animals. Occupants of these homes have organized themselves as a Registered Society and strive to solve problems and fulfil their needs by themselves. It is a place where every family member is able to enjoy a dignified life and lives in harmony by caring and sharing for each other. |
